The speech began like this
"more are days when snow burns in the color of light.
Falling in a flurry of rage, it swirls
angrily above street lamps and cast shadows."
This was the beginning of an empty speech
to an empty room
full of echoes, a booming silence deafened
the souls of four.
Pages filled with words they would never write.
"They," of course, being the limited masses, defined by their groupings.
definitions of deaf words still find fine courses,
I, however, am lost.
In the maze of my own thoughts for it was unfamiliar
territory.
i set out armed with memory to map my unmapable.
Directionless and dazed, I took several wrong turns,
forming a muttered circle,
of one man, one podium, one fear,
and two stammering lips.

Disruptive Singing Tuesday Morning

The earth was shaken
Burning with the fires of a thousand winters,
Ruffling through fallen leaves and shaken branches
Reminiscent of a leaky mental faucet near dried sponge;
It was Tuesday. She thought of these things on a hill.

A mental rising of building mountains over
thoughts of acrimonious words, ice bergs
seem to have a way of staying constant.
Even their melting, dripping fluid eternity through a current of constancy.

She was struck by a wave of heightened fantasy
in response to visual cues:
puppy, leaf, and nose.
no knows hit her head as she drifted through these scenes;
hot flashes seemed to do that to her.

And so she shook the earth with hungry hands
All the while, she was very aware that this land was not hers, even though it bore the imprint of her hand.
concretely screaming at that figurine of cuteness,
third party observation
a distinct nervous breakdown.

Environmental Poems

Todd Lehman from the Environmental Club has given us the opportunity to write some poetry expression our profound love for the environment (if you do not posses profound love for the environment, please feel free to express whatever feelings you do have for the environment (if you do not have any feelings for the environment...get some. In any manner possible and in great haste. Steal them from other people or go take a midnight run naked through a park...but I digress)).

Fall Break Writing Prompt

If you were to recite a poem in a public place in front of people you have never met, what would you say and how would you say it?

First Meeting

The first meeting went well. Hopefully this blog will be useful to keep things we discuss, such as the writing prompt for this week, organized and available.

For the writing prompt, we discussed the Stanley Milgram experiment (because we have a couple psychologists) and it's impacts and relevance to us as people.
